1 cup flour
¾ cup sugar
2 TBSP Hershey’s cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup milk
2 TBSP oil
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ cup Hershey’s cocoa
1 cup brown sugar
1 ¾ cup hottest tap water
Heat oven to 350. In an ungreased baking dish (9x9x2) stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Mix in milk, oil, and vanilla with a fork until smooth. Spread evenly in a dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup brown sugar and ¼ cup cocoa. Pour hot tap water over batter. Bake 40 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Let stand 15 min. Cake makes its own sauce. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

This is my husbands favorite treat- he requests it each year for his birthday. It's super easy with almost zero clean up as it is mixed in the same dish it is baked in.
For a dairy free option, water or rice milk may be substituted for the milk.
